So why not make the kitchen a little bit more homey and use decorative items that you would not normally expect to find in a kitchen?

1. Display your cookbooks 
Usually cookbooks are tucked away in the cupboard and no one sees them, yet many bookcovers are so pretty that it's way too bad to never see them. They are such a beautiful deco piece. So get those books out there! Decorate them standing or lying on a shelf or maybe even on a book stand unfolded on the countertop.
