Kitchen Styling Tricks

4 Simple Kitchen Styling Tricks.

The kitchen is the heart of the house, because it is the center of everyday life. The day most likely starts in the kitchen with a cup of coffee, latte or breakfast and in the evening you meet again in the kitchen to cook and talk about the day. So why not make the kitchen a little bit more homey and use decorative items that you would not normally expect to find in a kitchen?

Below you'll find a few unexpected kitchen styling tricks that you can try in your kitchen:

1. Display your cookbooks
Usually cookbooks are tucked away in the cupboard and no one sees them, yet many bookcovers are so pretty that it's way too bad to never see them. They are such a beautiful deco piece. So get those books out there! Decorate them standing or lying on a shelf or maybe even on a book stand unfolded on the countertop.

2. Table lamps in the kitchen
What's up with this? This really didn't exist in the past, a table lamp on the kitchen countertop? We only knew indirect lighting, which was placed under the kitchen cabinet. Yet a table lamp is not only particularly beautiful to look at, but also makes a great warm and cozy light.
If you have limited countertop space, a small round lamp base can look great stacked on top of a few books to add height. Other "kitchen-like" items like cookbooks or a container for kitchen utensils can complete the look and tie everything together.

3. Add a runner
The first thing people think of when they think of a rug in the kitchen is that it can get dirty quickly, and this fear is justified. Therefore, you should choose a rug that is spill-resistant and can be used indoors, as well as outdoors. Or even a vintage rug, that doesn't mind getting a little dirty. A runner made of sisal also does well. I have even tested in my kitchen. And has passed the test.

4. Add artwork
Artwork brings so much more character and personality to the kitchen. You can hang it on the wall, put it on a shelf or countertop. Which artwork you choose depends entirely on you and the style of your kitchen.
